Christine and Andrew were married at Blue Hill at Stone Barns this Saturday. They are an adventurous, well-traveled pair who call Hoboken their home. I loved what Ilise Harris did with Christine's hair. The wedding was beautiful and Stone Barns served an amazingly delicious feast. Thanks to David Mielcarek for working with me and Christine and Andrew for the honor of photographing this important day!

Koleen and Thomas

On one of the wettest mornings of the year, I drove down to shoot Koleen and Thomas on the property of the bride's parents house. The reception took place under a tent and another tent was out over the tennis courts, which served as the ceremony site and also the dance floor later on in the evening. During the emotional vows that took place between the lovely couple, Thomas said that when they woke up to the pouring rain that morning, they just looked at each other and laughed. The easy-going pair smiled and danced and I think besides the occasional foot being sunk into the muddy grass, no one even noticed the weather. In fact, just as the ceremony started, the sky cleared and it didn't rain for the rest of the evening! I was glad I brought my new stylish black rainboots so I could splash around and find the best angles. Thanks to David Lim for shooting with me!

On a winery upstate, Katie and Shaun got married on a perfect Saturday. Their wedding was simple and elegant. They had friends come in from all over the word and their ceremony was performed for them by a good friend who traveled from Japan to be there. I worked with Elisabeth Millay on this wedding and was happy to photograph such a fun and beautiful couple. The rain held out right until the close of their gorgeous tented reception.

Cynthia and James

Cynthia and James were married this past Saturday at Queens Botanical Garden. It was a perfect day for a garden wedding. I loved that Cynthia had each of her bridesmaids in a different spring color. Her wedding dress was a stunning Vera Wang design and halfway through the reception, she changed into a gorgeous Qi Pao, which is a traditional Chinese wedding dress. I was so happy to be documenting this sweet couple's wedding day.

Thanks to the very talented Michelle Arlotta for spending the day shooting with me. Another big thanks to the wonderfully fun and creative Alex Rodrigues for photographing backdrop "photobooth" portraits during the reception, which was a huge hit among the guests!

Sunday I went to Central Park to meet Liz and Ryan for their Engagement Session! I'm so excited for this wedding which will take place in early October in the Hamptons. These two are incredibly funny and animated and kept me laughing the entire session.

Brett and James were married this Saturday in Tribeca at the beautiful restaurant, Thalassa. Brett is a friend of mine who I used to work with when I was a photo editor for MTV Networks and I got to meet James many months ago when the pair began planning for their wedding. Both Brett and James are genuine and wonderful people and I was happy to be there to capture this important day for them. We met for pictures before their ceremony and they danced the night away until well after 1am. I loved Brett's amazing Christian Louboutin shoes.

Deniz and Pablo

On Monday evening, I met up with David Mielcarek, and his fiancee Liz (with about 6 cameras between us) to photograph Deniz and Pablo in Tribeca. The couple is getting married next year in beautiful Istanbul, Turkey. These two were an absolute joy to work with and we had the most amazing light I've seen all year!

Eren and Sydney

I met Eren and Sydney on Sunday morning in Washington Square Park for their Engagement Session. Although it was before anyone had a chance to consume their morning coffee ;) we had a great session walking down the fabulous Minetta Street and getting kicked out of NYU courtyards. Eren and Sydney have such wonderful personalities and I loved spending some time getting to know them a little better and I am looking forward to their wedding day in September.

This Saturday I photographed the beautiful country wedding of Jackie and Jesse with Elisabeth Millay.

We had a dream day; perfect weather and a sweet couple willing to trek through the tall grasses with an understanding of the importance of a great photograph. I guess that's what happens when you photograph for another wedding photographer!

The party was one of the best I've seen and there were so many sweet details. (Like the pink Cadillac Jackie's dad drove her in to the church!) I was so happy to be a part of their special and ridiculously fun day.

I met Christine and Andrew in Hoboken this Sunday to shoot their Engagement Session. Not only did the couple know all the hidden local treasures (Andrew gave me lots of ideas for future Engagement Sessions!) but the shoot was effortless and fun because these two didn't need any coaching at all (they even spontaneously staged a fight scene in the train station!). They were really fun to photograph and have a great dynamic. I'm so excited to shoot their wedding at beautiful Blue Hill at Stone Barns in June.

Sabrina and Joe tied the knot this Saturday in New Jersey. I photographed this gorgeous wedding with my good friend David Mielcarek. Fashionable Sabrina wore a beautiful Vera Wang dress, sparkly Kate Spade shoes and a handmade hair piece made from the same fabric as her dress. I loved their unique centerpieces. My favorite image of the day is the one below of Sabrina listening intently to her new mother-in-law's toast. She somehow held it together. This couple is so adorable together. They danced around and laughed like best friends completely in love.

I met Christine and Cooper early Saturday morning in Dumbo, Brooklyn for their Engagement Session. We had a perfect morning for photography and walking up on the Brooklyn Bridge. The pair hiked around with me like troopers, despite Christine's high heel wedges and one disgruntled park worker. Thanks to this sweet and easy-going couple for a great morning and for being so lovely even when I kept calling Cooper by the wrong name!!!

Its official! We have skipped spring and moved right into summer!

This past Saturday, I was in Fort Handcock on Sandy Hook photographing the Weiner family. We had beautiful weather and there were lots of interesting places to explore and shoot. And although I came back with a farmer's tan, we got some fabulous Jersey shore ice cream and lots of really fun images!

In honor of this particular family shoot, I'd like to wish all the mom's out there a Happy Early Mother's Day!

On Saturday I photographed Margaux and Jim at the Pleasantdale Chateau with my good friend David Mielcarek. Due to rainy April weather, Cynthia and James and I had moved their engagement session twice before finally, on a sunny but blustery Easter afternoon, we met up to shoot this fantastic photo session. We started by New York's famous Flatiron Building and ended the day on the cobblestone streets of Dumbo, Brooklyn, by the water overlooking their city. We found some really fun and interesting signage along the way. The couple is getting married June 6th of this year and I couldn't be more excited to shoot their wedding. Here's a couple with class, style, and two really wonderful personalities. Plus, look how adorable they are together!

My first wedding of 2009 I spent in snowy upstate New York photographing Emily and Zach at Art Omi. Emily and Zach are the perfect clients. Not only did they have a gorgeous location, a beautiful and creatively designed cocktail and reception, but they were relaxed and happy all day long! There were so many images I loved from this wedding that it was really hard to pick out selects but since I can't spend all week on a blog post (sadly), here is what I came up with to showcase the best parts of the day.

Maggie is a happy little girl who had a very long day today. I came over to see Maggie and her mom Meghan, her dad Joe, and her aunt Caitlin this afternoon and we had a fun time watching Maggie dance and play. We even braved the cold, which neither Maggie or her mom liked very much. We called it an early day, since little Maggie and the rest of us felt like taking a nap. Looking forward to seeing them soon for Part 2 of our shoot!

The Usdin Sisters

Prior to Hanukkah, I did some portraits of the Usdin sisters who had the great idea to give updated images as presents. Like most families with twenty-something kids and grandkids, Carly and Bailey's had been asking them for new pictures for a long time. I got some paper at Kate's for the inside portraits because I like the idea of pattern and wallpaper to compliment naturally-lit, cozy pictures of family and because its winter and although we loved shooting outside... it was freezing!

This weekend was the NY Marathon, the West Village Halloween parade, and Brittney and Zach's engagement session. Brittney is a singer and Zach is a composer and they make a great team in every way. This Saturday I worked with my friend Todd Laffler on the wedding of Jessica and Jeff. You couldn't have asked for a more perfect day. I loved Jessica gorgeous dress and the pair were a pleasure to work with. Although we almost got run over by a few bikes in the park, all in all it was a fun and easy day!

This past weekend I had the pleasure of shooting with my dear friend David Meilcarek in Vermont! When we first got up to our hotel late Friday night- our keys were in a hand written envelope taped to the door of the office. People are trusting in Vermont! The place was beautiful and the couple was a dream!

Amy and Jonathan

Amy and Jonathan's wedding was a weekend long extravaganza on the grounds of Camp Newfound in Harrison, Maine. This place holds a special place in my heart because I spent 9 summers spanning from age 9 to age 21 being a camper, a counselor, a lifeguard instructor and a swim teacher here on the shores of Long Lake and it was great to be back in its midst again. See image below... my sister is right behind me in this old shot, I was nine.

Not only was the location special, but I've known Amy and her sister Kat, for many years and was honored when Amy and her husband Jonathan asked me to photograph... especially since her very own sister is a photographer herself!

The festivities started on Friday with a Lobster Bake Hoedown... a sort of Kansas (where the bride is from) meets Maine (where the groom is from) experience. On Saturday, the wedding itself was held at a lovely church about 20 minutes down the road and the party continued into the night until Amy and Jonathan made their escape into the rain through drenched and happy guests holding sparklers.

Thanks so much Amy and Jonathan for inviting me up for the weekend! And to all my old Camp Newfound pals, it was refreshing and wonderful to see all of you again. And as the old Camp Newfound song goes...

By the shores of Long Lake, where my heart will always be, there's a camp called Newfound that is nettled in the trees. To it come young and old, its beauty to beyond, and those who share its treasures have memories of gold.

Kimmy and Alex

They always say to never work for close friends and there are reasons for that. When I sent Kimmy the details sheet to fill out before the wedding, under Photographer Start Time she typed in "the moment she wakes up!". It doesn't help that the night before we stayed in the brides room and being the joker that she is, declared "Get to Work!" as soon as I opened my eyes.

I met Kim when we were 16 at a camp in Maine. The Spice Girls were all the rage and Kim was the funniest girl I'd ever met! We later ended up spending a year of high school together in St Louis MO! Kim married Alex, who she met her freshman year in college and they are two of the funniest, sweetest people you'll ever meet.

The wedding took place in Meredith NH on Lake Winnepsake, a place where Kim spent many summers growing up. I had so much fun the entire weekend from the Friday cruise around the lake and bachelorette party to follow to the wedding to a fun Saturday night where we all met back at the docks and had dinner and ice cream and drank crazy fruity concoctions out of watermelons! I love my job!
